SERVICES
Source Point Recovery
Locating the source point will reduce the cost of drill stand by time and redrill cost. We recover the cap leads and if they are damaged or broke we re-splice and test them. If only the drill hole is found with cuttings, this can still give the client an assurance that the source was actually drilled by the drill contractor. Also this will make a good record on the condition and location of a source point not detonated, for the job completion report that is turned in to the state.
Equipment and Marine Salvage
Equipment lost, includes the recovery of cables that have become entangled or batteries that have fallen off the floats or shepherd hooks, as well as the recovery of boxes, this can be very cost effective if they have data on them. Marine salvage (air boats, barges, crew boats, ect.) will be done along with the clients Safety Team. If the vessel can’t be recovered due to damage or safety, then at least what equipment can be will be brought up. If the vessel was carrying explosives, we are certified to handle and recover. D.S.I. provides fuel/oil spill containment and cleanup.
Underwater Demolition
Our certified diver can perform underwater demolition projects from bulk head removal to flattening out a sunken vessel in shallow water to render it a non threat to other boat traffic. This will be carried out according to Federal, State, and local Government guide lines.
Under water demolition can also be of a non-energetic materials type, such as the removal of twisted drill stem by means of cutting it at the base of the floor.
GPS and Mapping
Clients and Client reps can have the phone placement and or the drill source point checked by underwater GPS, to ensure placement is within spec. In the event of boat or a drill sinking, we can assist the Safety team by making a detailed record of the accident by surveying and mapping the wreck site, before attempting to bring it up. We can also assist Archaeologist in a underwater Arch study before drilling is conducted.
QHSE - Accident investigations of water operations
Our team can assist the Clients Safety team, by surveying and mapping out the shipwreck or equipment lost, photograph or video the wreck before recovery operations begin. As well as check for environmental hazards.
Water Operations Response and Rescue
Since we are on the water with the crew we can be called to responded and commit rescue operations if needed.
Water Safety training
DSI divers can train or help assist Safety teams in the water safety training required for crews that work around or in the water. Training consist of proper use of the PFD (personal floatation device) and wet testing personal to see them use a PFD and how to swim with a PFD. Also, basic water survival and briefing on water conditions and wildlife in the area. |
